A Bee Stung my Dog, a Poem

When your dog steps on a bee, oh me, oh my,

Stay calm and soothe them, don't let them see you cry.

Check for the stinger, remove it with care,

But don't squeeze or prod, just be gentle and aware.

Clean the spot with water, a little soap will do,

To prevent any infection, this step is crucial too.

Apply a cold compress to lessen the sting,

And reduce swelling - it's a helpful thing.

Watch for allergic reactions, a worrisome sight,

Like difficulty breathing or swelling, act fast, don't take flight.

If these signs appear, to the vet you must go,

It's crucial to act swiftly, to ensure they're not in woe.

An antihistamine like Benadryl can also provide aid,

But consult your vet first, don't let this advice fade.

At one milligram per pound, it's the dosage to heed,

With this knowledge in mind, you'll help your dog indeed.

So when a bee gives your dog a little scare,

Remember these tips, show them how much you care.

With your quick response and a loving touch,

Your dog will soon be back to wagging, oh so much!
